Under section 75A of the Crimes Act 1958, Armed Robbery occurs when a person carries out a robbery while possessing a firearm, imitation firearm, offensive weapon, explosive, or imitation explosive. The maximum penalty for armed robbery is 25 years imprisonment. Armed robbery can only be heard and determined by the County Court of Victoria.
